Evolution of Blonde: From Straw to Silk

Greetings and welcome,

I’m here to spit the hot fire of truth: blonde dye kills your hair. Whoa, who knew right?

Of course blonde isn’t good for your hair. Bleach itself makes your hair more porous and it can become brittle and fragile. So how does one achieve gorgeous sun-kissed hair without straw-ifying it? Have no fear, Blonde On A Budget is here with some solutions.

Good Shampoo and Conditioner

First of all, starting out with a good shampoo and conditioner is a must. Some of the best yet affordable options I have found and keep coming back to is none other than TRESemmé

Specifically TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner. I have never felt such smoothness and strength, even right after washing it out, than I have experienced with TRESemmé. It is an immediate improvement even after just one wash and I would highly recommend this brand to anyone, especially when you’re watching your wallet waistline.

Deep Conditioners

Next, another definite must is a deep conditioner/hair mask. This is so important especially important when trying to bring damaged hair back from the dead. A little trick I have found is using the deep conditioners that come in dye boxes. I save all of my deep conditioners and use them for a little extra smoothness when I need.

Extra-Virign Olive Oil Hair Treatments

Also, if you’re looking to DIY, extra virgin olive oil hair treatment is a God send. Warm 1/2 cup of olive oil in the microwave for 25 seconds and massage into hair from root to tip. Place hair in a shower cap or plastic wrap your head and let soak for 5-45 minutes, and volia! Luscious locks.

Let me know your blonde maintenance tips!

Happy Blonding 🙂
