The Canadian Beauty Bloggers theme of the month is spring beauty! So I wanted to do a little round up of some of my favourite drugstore beauty products that more stand up to their high end counterparts for a fresh spring look. Read on for my full dish on a few beauty products on a budget:
My ultimate favourite face wash I have used for years. I use it twice a day, morning and night. It’s great at scrubbing off foundation, exfoliating properties makes your skin feel silky smooth, and my skin has way fewer breakouts as it clears away pore clogging dead skin, dirt and makeup.
My holy grail foundation. Super watery formula which blends out beautifully while still having great coverage. I always blend it with my fingers which makes for quick application and warms up the product for a natural-looking finish. It is also very buildable, up to full coverage. This is the only product I have found that doesn’t crease under my eyes and does a great job covering dark under eye circles.
A Kim Kardashian recommended product, this mascara is one of the blackest around which is what I always look for in a mascara. The blacker the mascara, the more dramatic and defined the lash effect. This mascara is great for not being clumpy as well as having no mascara crumbs falling onto your cheeks throughout the day.
This is the best liquid liner I have ever used. The brush makes for very easy and precise application (I always clean up any mistakes with a Q-Tip!). It is also a very black eyeliner which is perfect for a great cat eye look. It also really does stay put all day, doesn’t rub off or fade like the Almay liquid liner I used to use.
This is a great lip liner for precision, no bleeding off the lip edge, and best of all – it isn’t doesn’t dry out your lips, which I find happens a lot with lip liners when you apply them to your full lip. I love using this to slightly over line my lips for a plumper effect.
This eye shadow is simply stunning. If you are looking for a beautiful metallic and highlighting effect, this eye shadow is for you. Sure to make for a gorgeous ‘gram.
I have seen way too many poorly drawn in brows lately. But this can be avoided with some fool-proof tricks including using a powder instead of a liquid to fill in your brows. You still get a great natural-looking defined brow without looking super overdone (or like ya did them with sharpie – gak!)
I don’t know about you but in the winter months, my lips can be so insanely dry. This is why I love this product. You get that gorgeous shimmery shine without the usual sticky gloss feeling. Instead, your lips are left feeling buttery soft and silky.
