Skin Care

Clarisonic Dupe

Hi all,

In the past while, as I am sure many of us have been feeling in these winter months, my skin hasn’t been the best. Breakouts, dryness, winter does not make for the best skin situation at all.

I had recently watched a “Get Ready With” type video by Gabi DeMartino on YouTube  that featured the Duvolle spin brush she credits for clearing up her acne-prone. Having suffered from acne-prone skin myself throughout middle and high school, I was intrigued. But how much better could using a spin brush be for your skin?

I thought about it and I did find my skin was worlds better when I exfoliated a lot using my favourite St Ives Apricot Scrub, my tried and true since I was 14. Since I could tell whenever I go back to this routine my skin was better, I began to seriously consider a spin brush purchase.

However, when I finally came the the Duvolle checkout online, as many of us Canadians have experienced, with shipping and duties, it would be a $50. Even with the 75% off GDBLACK coupon!! $50???? I thought. For what I usually use a $5 face wash to achieve? No.

But I kept thinking about it. And thinking about. Finally, I realized it’s 2018. It’s a spin brush for your face. There’s no way there isn’t some kind of knockoff. So I went to my favourite place for the best prices – Amazon.ca.

There, I found the Olay Regenerist Brush. It had great reviews and looks almost exactly the same as Duvolle, not to mention comes with two brush heads for $29.91 – jackpot!

I was so excited to start using it. And by God, I was not disappointed.

My skin had never been so clear. As one of my favourite Youtubers described, it feels like your skin has gone through a car wash. It feels squeaky clean and highly exfoliated. I use it on the highest setting out of 2, morning and night, and my skin has never felt so clean and truly looks awesome. My pores are smaller than ever especially on my nose and cheeks and some problem area like my forehead and chin are completely clear, when they usually always boast at least one blemish at any given time.

Compared to the Clarisonic, that can go for $229, the Olay Regenerist brush going for $29.91 is an absolute steal. If you’re looking to clear up your skin and get some anti-aging exfoliation going – I would highly recommend it!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever used a spin brush and how you have found it!

Happy exfoliating 🙂
