Hi all,
Now I don’t know about you but often in evening, after dinner is said and done, I am craving something sweet. I am a sucker for a good brownie but alas, it’s only me and my boyfriend (and our puppy!) living at our place so making a whole tray of brownies is recipe for a belly ache.
Enter, mug brownies. Single-serving brownie you can make in under 2 minutes. Sure beats waiting 30 minutes plus prep time while your tummy rumbles as you in front of the oven now don’t it?! Or is that just me…
Although, mug brownies aren’t always that easy. I have tried quite a few recipes that were either too dry, too bland, the list goes on.
I happened across this recipe when I made a full tray of brownies and didn’t have any cocoa powder in the house (just hot chocolate mix) and omg – it ruled.
SO, I thought why don’t I work off this recipe and try and make it mug-sized? (I also forgot to add extra sugar while doing it (fail) but the result was actually so delicious, I just had to share.)
Therefore, check out what I put together for just a little something sweet, clocking in at 300 calories a serving. (Bear in mind this isn’t a huge serving, consider doubling the recipe if you would like more!)

Ingredients
2 tbsp & 2 tsp hot chocolate mix (I used No Name brand)
1 tbsp & 1 tsp white flour
1 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp almond milk
1/8 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Directions
- Place butter run a ceramic mug and heat in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
- Add all other ingredients to the mug and stir until smooth.
- Heat mixture in the microwave for 30-40 seconds depending on how gooey you like your brownie.
- Serve immediately & enjoy!
